HELLO!  Welcome.  I want all my blog readers and clients to know how special photography is to me.  It freezes time and allows memories to flood into our lives at a glance.  I love photographing children.  There is nothing better than capturing who that little person is, and to be able to return to that time and place over and over again.  I love it when I look at an image of a child and I can tell who that child is just by an expression.  My style is unique and fresh, I'm silly and goofy and will do almost anything it takes to capture the natural expressions of a child.

To me it's all about creating memories, mine and yours.  On this blog you'll get to see some of the daily happenings of my children's lives as well as view sneak peeks from the fun families I get to hang out with.  We get to experience it all together!

b l a c k & b l u e

I've made a resolution to post more pictures of my kids on my blog this year.  I take so many of them but they rarely make it up on my blog.  A fan on my facebook page commented that she loved seeing my pictures of my kids and reminded me what a huge blessing being able to document my childrens lives in pictures is.  I totally took this talent for granted.  Even if they aren't portrait quality and what I consider to be snapshots... I will be posting them!

So why not start with the big adventure we had last night.  Easton was shopping at Khol's with my husband.  They were headed out of the store and almost made it out alive.  East was running down an isle and not paying attention to where he was headed and smack full force into a display.  He has a couple stitches and a nice fancy shiner to show for it.  I'm surprised that these are his first stitches to tell you the truth, the child is wild, love him.  He thinks the black eye is pretty cool and is checking himself out in the mirror about every 10 minutes.

love slurpee tongues.  they purposefully choose blue for that reason.

molly was feeling left out.

Last September I snuck into my mom's house and photographed molly and easton in their grandma's funky glasses that she seems to collect.  I wanted to surprise her with the pictures in the yearly book that i put together for myself as well as each grandma with all the snaps, moments and pictures of my kids year.  i'm not a scrapper and it's my version of a scrapbook made of mostly pictures (this year i had over 580 images in the book).  anyway, now that she's seen these I can post about them.  they are some of my favorites of my kids from the whole year.  not only because they have a piece of my mom in them, but also because my kids just couldn't be any cuter!  i love their relationship and their playfulness.

... and I'm not talk'n about McDreamy!

I'm talking about this sweet little buttercup!  She was absolutely adorable and I loved her to pieces.... even if she wouldn't sleep for me :)

When I got to their house I fell in love!  It had such wonderful character and amazing hardwood floors! (okay so I lied... she did sleep, but only for about 5 frames.... it was enough)

her parents were gorgeous too... we had some fun capturing some lifesyle type moments with the 3 of them.

the spirit of Christmas

I hope that everyone has a Merry Christmas!  I just wanted to share a little clip that perfectly helps remind what Christmas is all about.  May we all have a wonderfull day with family, I hope that Santa makes it safely to your homes and that we stop and most importantly that we take a moment to remember our Savior, Jesus Christ.

(for you photographers... the movie was shot with a Canon Mark II & I believe they used a nikon coverter and shot with old 35 mm film lens.)  That camera is amazing!  If I were ever to conver to Cannon this would be the camera to do it :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS! This is one of the Christmas cards that we used this year!

PS.... scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the become a fan link and watch a Merry Christmas Message from yours truely and a couple of really silly kids.

I wasn't lying when I told you all that I had a bunch of newborns coming up!  They are just the absolute best!  This littly guy was so cooperative and sweet.  I just loved photographing.  So here they are to the very patient Lynette, it's been hard getting my post up during this crazy holiday season.  Hope that everyone is merry and having fun out in the hustle and bustle this year brings!  I think I'm the only one that actually enjoys the holiday crowds.  I love being in the mix of it all and don't even get me started on the crazies... oh how I wish I could sneak a little chill pill in their pockets... or at least a hershey kiss... that always works for me.   Zuu pets just arn't worth yelling and calling names over... but it sure is good entertainment.

YAY!  another newborn to share with you!  This little guy was a perfect angel baby to photograph... so handsome and so sleepy!  Thanks Steph for letting me photograph your too-beautiful-to-be-a-boy-baby ;)  Love him, and love you!

Don't you worry about a thing, he's all ready rockin it!  Love this & I totally think it suites your style ;)

I love this next one too... he looks like he was working so hard at sleeping... hope it's not a "come on lady, not you and your camera" look.  He better get used to me right?  LOL.

And one more, can't show too many, it will ruin the element of surprise.... I just loved it when he grabbed hold of this hat so perfectly!  What a fabulous model he was!

You all have no idea how giddy I get when I get a call for newborn sessions!  They are hard work but so rewarding!  I am lucky to live in the the state with the nations highest birth rate, and just had 3 newborn sessions in about a 2 week time.  I know that doesn't sound like a lot to some but for me it is!  Keep them coming peeps!!!  I just can't get enough.  If you are interested in a newborn shoot here are some good things to know:

- schedule your newborns session within the first 2 weeks after they are born... there are a couple of good reasons for this.  One, they are still super sleepy at this time.  Two, they still have their curley little bodies that makes it easy to pose them let alone hide the unmentionalbles.  Three, they change and grow so fast... that after 2 weeks you wont even recognize them as the teeny-tiny newborn that they were.... sad.

- Even though I am booked through out the rest of the year... I always leave room for newborn appointments.  We just don't want to miss out on the newness!

-I come to you!  I bring everything with me... nothing short of hardwood floors... litterally!  This makes it easy for you new moms... you can relax in your own home with no pressure, keep the little ones out of the cold and my favorite... not having to pack the diaper bag :)

This little guy has the most adorable little squishy face I've ever seen!  He wasn't in the mood for pictures but we were able to sneak a few of him ;)

He also has gorgeous brothers and sister!

That I had 2 of the most adorable children "in the whole wide world", as Easton would say?  If you did then I really can't get all that mad because I've been really naughty about not posting pictures of them.

We attempted today to get a good shot of the two of them together for a Christmas card, and well, I got a TON of out-takes and one decent one I can put in the card.  At least we got the job done..... right?  So for a little fun, I'll show you the out-takes and let you wait to see the good one in the card ;)

These first two I actually really love.  As a mom it makes me happy to see in a photograph just how they are with each other.  Molly's sweet adoration of her big brother.  She copies everthing he does and just plain loves to be with him.  The giggles.... oh the giggles!  It's music to my ears.... honestly, the best sound I've ever heard.  One day just after dropping East off at pre-school I told Molly... "It's just you and me babe, wont it be fun to hang out with just mom?"... her response "no, I want Easton".

He takes care of her.... watches out for her.... makes sure she's happy, comfortable, and taken care of.  At night she likes to use every excuse in the book for me to either come into her room, get her out of bed, or maybe just be plain annoying.... I like to try to ignore her and not give in (because I know better), but Easton (being the awesome big brother that he is) wants to make sure she has what she needs wants.  He cries to me "take care of my sister"... and often will go into her room himself and tell her that she needs to be quite and to go to sleep and that everything is just fine.  I wish I could record it one night, the things he tells her... you'd be rolling on the floor.

I'm not one that wants to come across on my blog that everything smells like roses, but in my book, with these two it comes pretty close ;)

Everyone like Molly's buck teeth?  She really doesn't have buck teeth but that's what she gets for pulling her stinker face!

And finally, I actually love this one too... but you should have heard her telling me as she's running away, "you're never gonna get me"... her 5 favorite words.

and well, what can I say about East?  He has become 101% easier to photograph but now he's at the stage where he feels the need to pull faces at the camera.... here are a few of his best:

Have I ever said how much I love what I do???  Once again, another fabulous family that I got to work with! When I was just getting into photography I begged this mom to take pictures of her adorable girls... well her family has grown A LOT over the past 3 years, they've added a boy to the mix and the girls have gotten so big!

There are more "portrait like" pictures of the 3 of them but I'm loving this more candid shot of them.

the whole fam:

from the looks of the next 2 you'd think it was nice and toasty outside... don't be fooled, we were cold! :)

So this post is a little out of order but I've had some technical difficulties to say the least.  Kathrine, I'll be getting yours up next *wink*

This darling little babe was so sweet.  She kept making the most adorable cooing sounds you'd ever want to hear.  All though at times they turned to grunts and we were a little afraid what she might do to my blankets LOL... I think she's the first not to poop though so she did really good!  She slept the whole time and was just perfect in everyway!  Babies like this just make me want to shoot only newborns!!  I'm excited because I get to do another one next week!!  Yay!
