HELLO!  Welcome.  I want all my blog readers and clients to know how special photography is to me.  It freezes time and allows memories to flood into our lives at a glance.  I love photographing children.  There is nothing better than capturing who that little person is, and to be able to return to that time and place over and over again.  I love it when I look at an image of a child and I can tell who that child is just by an expression.  My style is unique and fresh, I'm silly and goofy and will do almost anything it takes to capture the natural expressions of a child.

To me it's all about creating memories, mine and yours.  On this blog you'll get to see some of the daily happenings of my children's lives as well as view sneak peeks from the fun families I get to hang out with.  We get to experience it all together!

That I had 2 of the most adorable children "in the whole wide world", as Easton would say?  If you did then I really can't get all that mad because I've been really naughty about not posting pictures of them.

We attempted today to get a good shot of the two of them together for a Christmas card, and well, I got a TON of out-takes and one decent one I can put in the card.  At least we got the job done..... right?  So for a little fun, I'll show you the out-takes and let you wait to see the good one in the card ;)

These first two I actually really love.  As a mom it makes me happy to see in a photograph just how they are with each other.  Molly's sweet adoration of her big brother.  She copies everthing he does and just plain loves to be with him.  The giggles.... oh the giggles!  It's music to my ears.... honestly, the best sound I've ever heard.  One day just after dropping East off at pre-school I told Molly... "It's just you and me babe, wont it be fun to hang out with just mom?"... her response "no, I want Easton".

He takes care of her.... watches out for her.... makes sure she's happy, comfortable, and taken care of.  At night she likes to use every excuse in the book for me to either come into her room, get her out of bed, or maybe just be plain annoying.... I like to try to ignore her and not give in (because I know better), but Easton (being the awesome big brother that he is) wants to make sure she has what she needs wants.  He cries to me "take care of my sister"... and often will go into her room himself and tell her that she needs to be quite and to go to sleep and that everything is just fine.  I wish I could record it one night, the things he tells her... you'd be rolling on the floor.

I'm not one that wants to come across on my blog that everything smells like roses, but in my book, with these two it comes pretty close ;)

Everyone like Molly's buck teeth?  She really doesn't have buck teeth but that's what she gets for pulling her stinker face!

And finally, I actually love this one too... but you should have heard her telling me as she's running away, "you're never gonna get me"... her 5 favorite words.

and well, what can I say about East?  He has become 101% easier to photograph but now he's at the stage where he feels the need to pull faces at the camera.... here are a few of his best:

Have I ever said how much I love what I do???  Once again, another fabulous family that I got to work with! When I was just getting into photography I begged this mom to take pictures of her adorable girls... well her family has grown A LOT over the past 3 years, they've added a boy to the mix and the girls have gotten so big!

There are more "portrait like" pictures of the 3 of them but I'm loving this more candid shot of them.

the whole fam:

from the looks of the next 2 you'd think it was nice and toasty outside... don't be fooled, we were cold! :)

So this post is a little out of order but I've had some technical difficulties to say the least.  Kathrine, I'll be getting yours up next *wink*

This darling little babe was so sweet.  She kept making the most adorable cooing sounds you'd ever want to hear.  All though at times they turned to grunts and we were a little afraid what she might do to my blankets LOL... I think she's the first not to poop though so she did really good!  She slept the whole time and was just perfect in everyway!  Babies like this just make me want to shoot only newborns!!  I'm excited because I get to do another one next week!!  Yay!

So October is probably my busiest month of the year.  Funny that as early as I start planning for this time of year, I'm never prepared for what's to come.  With fall leaves, Christmas cards, halloween and the occasional curve ball life tends to throw at you (and of course this happens when your life is all ready crazy enough), I have survived!  I did warn my husband in advance that I would probably need to hire someone to clean my house because I probably wouldn't, that he needed to plan on Little Ceasar's $5 pizza twice a week for dinner, and that if his wife turned out missing that he should check the basement & that I was probably glued to my computer screen.  All of that, sad or happy, whichever way you want to look at it.... came true.  Glad to be in the fabulous month of November when things tend slow down, I can take a moment to play with the kids, watch TV, read a book, bake, you get the picture.  I'm excited to enjoy the holidays, listen to Christmas music (which reminds me I need to add to my Pandora list), sip hot cocoa, snuggle in jammies and slippers, light Pepperberry candles, be with family.... as much as I love what I do, it just sounds too good to be true!

Here are a few from the last sessions of the month/YEAR!

g o o d t h i n g s U T A H

Today was a good day!  I have the best most wonderfully talented client turned friend.  Her name is Amber Packer, you scrapbookers out there might know who she is.  Anyway, she is on a local t.v. talk show a bunch of us Utah moms like to watch everyday.  She does scrapbooking segments every 2-3 weeks (i think) and this week they asked her to talk about her 5 favorite craft supplies.  I was so excited when she asked me to be one of the 5!!!  So here's a little clippy from the show... I'm not until the end of the clip so keep watching ;)

I just have to give a little shout out to 2 fabulous companies that helped me in my emergency in getting the big print made.  To make a long story short, the print I ordered from my regular lab didn't get here in time so with and hour til closing time PIXELS printed my image & the FRAMING ESTABLISHMENT in South Jordan got it framed and matted for me.  Both companies have the best customer service ever!  I recommend both!!

a v e r y c o o l & e x c i t i n g a n n o u n c e m e n t • cinematic memories

I am so excited to finally share this with you... it's been in the works for a while now.  HayleeBean. Photography has joined with Willoway Media to bring you Cinematic Memories!  It's a brand new trend in the photography industry to offer professional "home movies" along with your photoshoot.  So new in fact, that HayleeBean. Photography is one of the first to offer this in Utah!  My friend Tucker Dansie is an awardwinning filmmaker bringing with him over 16 years of filming and editing experience.  We are so excited to be able to offer you memories both in living color, and now MOTION & SOUND!

We surprised my unexpecting clients with this so we could make a demo.  They were great sports and so much fun!  Hope you like the first look into the new world of Cinematic Memories - coming in 2010!

1 + 2 m a k e s 3 • utah childrens photographer

These 3 kids are so much fun.  Regardless of what their mom tells me about them being wild, these boys knew how to charm a camera & gave me the most wonderful mellow expressions a photographer could ask for.  All 3 of them were very well behaved and made my job really easy!

Julie, I know you weren't there to have your pictures taken but I'm really glad that I got this!  I just love it!

so so happy, because this family called me.  I actually approached this mom about taking their photographs.  She is a friend of a good friend of mine and when I met she and her girls one afternoon I practically begged to take their photographs {blushing}.  Her girls... all 3 of them... are so beautiful.  I had a blast hanging out with you guys, thank you so much for letting me capture your gorgeous family.

October is a crazy month for me so I'm trying to get things done on time and answer emails quickly but sometimes I can get a bit behind so be patient if you're waiting for a reply.... I'm working on it.  So finally, a long awaited sneak-peek for some cute kids that I just adore!

This little guy was not excited to be having his pictures taken but after a cupple of sticks, a snickers bar, and a silly game of watching things fall off my head we were able to get some great shots of him.  I had placed a stick on my head and he had fun watching it tumble down, he thought he'd give it a try too :)

I have some great ones without the sticks too Kris.... don't you worry.... I just like these :)  Miss E was my little model for the night.  She was so easy to photograph and so so beautiful!

And Mr J.... what a handsome guy... and so funny.  He told me that the girls don't chase after him like they do the Jonas Brothers when I asked him if he had any girlfriends, LOL.  Don't you worry buddy.... they'll be chaseing you down soon enough ;)
